Swurfer Kiwi Baby and Toddler Swings were recalled because the plastic stopper on the rope can detach, creating a fall hazard. FlyBar Inc. and the CPSC announced the repair recall on May 14, 2020.

On May 14, 2020, the CPSC and FlyBar Inc. announced recall 20-121 of about 3,000 Swurfer Kiwi Baby and Toddler Swings [1]. The remedy is a repair, and the recall is open.
Which Swurfer Baby Swings Are Affected?
The recall covers the Swurfer Kiwi Baby and Toddler Swings with these identifiers:
- Model name: Kiwi Swing SSW-0005
- Look: green, blue and pink plastic swing
- Size: about 15 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 20 inches high
- Date code: manufacture date of August 2019, embossed on the back of the swing
- Label: FlyBar, Inc. and the model name, printed on the underside
About 3,000 swings are included. They were sold from October 2019 through March 2020 for about $80. Owners can find the label and date code on the swing itself.
Why Were the Swurfer Baby Swings Recalled?
The Swurfer baby swings were recalled for one defect: the plastic stopper at the bottom of the swing rope can detach. That stopper holds the swing seat in place.
If the stopper detaches, the child in the swing faces a fall hazard. The notice names this as a hazard to the swing’s occupant.

Six reports of the rope end detaching reached FlyBar. According to the CPSC, no injuries have been reported. The hazard named in the notice is a fall.
