The CPSC recalled about 200 pink SPPTTY bikes in 14-inch and 18-inch sizes on July 10, 2025. Lead in the bikes is above the federal limit set by the lead content ban. They were sold on Walmart.com in 2024.
The hazard is lead poisoning in children. The bikes have brown seat covers, handlebars, pedals and baskets, and the downtube reads “SPPTTY” and “New Sport Bike.” Owners should stop using them and contact the seller for a full refund.
The recall has not been expanded, reannounced or terminated since the CPSC announced it. No lawsuit, class action or MDL has been filed over these bicycles.

The advisory tells clinicians to consider blood lead testing for children who are exposed to these and other lead sources.July 10, 2025: CPSC Announces Recall 25-382
The CPSC announced recall 25-382 of about 200 SPPTTY Kids 14- and 18-inch bicycles [2]. Shenzhen Yihuachuang Technology, doing business as SPPTTY, of China sold the bikes.Which SPPTTY Bicycles Are Affected?
The recall covers SPPTTY Kids bicycles with these features:- Sizes: 14-inch and 18-inch
- Color: pink, with brown seat covers, handlebars, pedals and baskets
- Markings: “SPPTTY” and “New Sport Bike” printed on the downtube
- Units: about 200 bicycles
- Sold at: online at Walmart from August 2024 through December 2024 for about $85
Why Were SPPTTY Bicycles Recalled?
The SPPTTY bicycles were recalled because multiple components contain lead at levels that exceed the federal lead content ban. The black paint on the bicycle pumps also exceeds the federal lead paint ban. The CPSC notice says lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues. The recall is a regulator finding that the bikes broke a federal ban. It does not find that any child was harmed. The CPSC calls it a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the agency.Reported Incidents, Injuries, or Illnesses
No injuries have been reported to the CPSC in connection with the SPPTTY bicycles. The CDC says even low levels of lead in blood are associated with developmental delays, difficulty learning and behavioral issues [3]. The CDC adds that the effects of lead poisoning can be permanent and disabling. The CDC prevention guidance says a blood test is the best way to find out whether a child was exposed [4].Were you or a family member hurt by this product?

What Should Consumers Do?
Follow these steps if you own or bought a recalled SPPTTY bicycle:- Stop using the recalled bicycle immediately.
- Email Shenzhen Yihuachuang Technology at lishkjie@163.com to request a full refund.
- Dismantle the bicycle, take a photo and send the photo by email as proof of destruction.
- After you submit proof of destruction, dispose of the bike through your local household hazardous waste collection program.
- Ask your child’s health care provider about a blood lead test, since most children with lead in their blood have no obvious symptoms.
- If the company does not respond, use the CPSC recall complaint form or call the CPSC hotline at 800-638-2772.
Legal Options
A recall does not automatically decide who is liable or who may bring a claim. If your child was tested for lead or harmed, a lawyer can review your facts. Keep the Walmart.com order record, photos of the bicycle, the refund emails and any medical records, including blood lead test results.Filing Deadlines
Filing deadlines for any legal claim over a recalled product come from state law and depend on where you live and on when the exposure, illness or injury and its diagnosis happened. If you miss the deadline, your claim may be barred, even with strong facts. Talk to a lawyer promptly so the deadline that applies can be checked.Frequently Asked Questions
Should Pregnant or Lactating People Get Tested After SPPTTY Bicycle Exposure?
Pregnant or lactating people exposed to SPPTTY bicycles may ask a doctor about testing. The Pennsylvania advisory says lead exposure can have serious health consequences, especially for children and pregnant women. What Are the Symptoms of Lead Poisoning from a SPPTTY Bicycle?
The symptoms of lead poisoning are often hard to see. Many children show nothing obvious, so the CDC uses a blood lead reference value of 3.5 micrograms per deciliter to identify children with levels higher than most. What Is Lead?
Lead is a naturally occurring metal that can cause negative health effects, according to the CDC. The CDC says no safe blood lead level in children has been identified. Can Anyone Still Sell the Recalled SPPTTY Bicycles?
No one can still sell the recalled SPPTTY bicycles. Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a recall like this one, so a resale of the bikes would break the law.Why Are Young Children More Likely to Be Exposed to Lead?
Children younger than 6 are more likely to be exposed to lead because of hand-to-mouth behavior, the CDC says. Many children ingest lead dust by putting objects such as toys and dirt in their mouths.References
