May 1, 2025: Step Tread Recall 25V-061 Begins

On May 1, 2025, Grand Design RV initiated recall 25V-061 on 2019-2024 Solitude fifth wheels, according to its dealer notice [2]. The trailers were built from June 1, 2018 to August 16, 2023. The notice says the interior step treads are laminated material and can break while in use. That raises the risk of fall and injury. No court has made a finding about it.

November 17, 2016: Transport Canada Publishes Recall 2016573

On November 17, 2016, Transport Canada first published recall 2016573 on 2015-2016 Solitude and Momentum trailers with a Christianson exterior ladder, in its recall notice [5]. The notice says the ladder mounting bracket could separate from the hinge due to an incorrect weld. Dealers install a hinge brace.

Owners of a Solitude fifth wheel built between August 18, 2016 and July 30, 2020 are covered by recall 20V-523. Recalls 25V-061 and 26V-044 cover other build periods, listed in the updates above.
