About the Attorney
Michael E. Schmidt (1966–2014) founded Schmidt & Clark, LLP in 2005. He was recognized as one of America’s most passionate, accomplished, and skilled trial lawyers and was a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the American Association for Justice.
After earning a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1989, a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law, and an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University School of Business in 1992, he joined The Schmidt Firm, LLP.
Michael focused on representing plaintiffs in group and individual cases involving mass torts, personal injury, environmental litigation, toxic exposure, transportation disasters, automotive crashworthiness, medical device failures, and medical malpractice.
Certified as a Personal Injury Trial Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he was a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and several United States District Courts.
He served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). In 1997, he chaired TTLA’s “The Advocates” and served on its fundraising and membership services committees.
He also served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association (DTLA). From 1997 to 1998, he chaired its newsletter and technology committees; in 2000, he was a member of its web page committee. He was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America President’s Club.
