He was a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, American Association for Justice, and countless other prestigious legal organizations. Michael E. Schmidt founded Schmidt & Clark, LLP in 2005.
After earning a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1989, a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law, and (simultaneously) an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University School of Business in 1992 he joined The Schmidt Firm, LLP.
Michael complements the firm's broad range of practice by focusing on the representation of plaintiffs in group and individual cases including mass torts, personal injury, environmental litigation, toxic exposure, transportation disasters, automotive crashworthiness, medical device failures and medical malpractice.
Certified as a Personal Injury Trial Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and several United States District Courts - Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas, and Eastern District of Arkansas.
He was also a current member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). In 1997 he served as TTLA's Chairman of "The Advocates," and was a member of the fundraising and membership services committees.
He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association (DTLA). From 1997 to 1998, he served as DTLA Newsletter Chairman, as well as Technology Chairman. In 2000, he served as a DTLA web page committee member. As a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, he was a member of the President's Club.
