October 14, 2025: NHTSA Acknowledges Murphy Bed Recall

On October 14, 2025, NHTSA acknowledged Jayco‘s recall 25V-675 for 53 units of 2026 Heartland Bighorn and Jayco North Point fifth wheels [1]. The letter states that the Murphy bed mechanism may fail, causing the bed to fall unexpectedly. Jayco’s remedy was still under development. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed December 5, 2025.

October 9, 2025: Jayco Reports the Defect and Canada Publishes a Recall

Jayco reported the Murphy bed defect to NHTSA on October 9, 2025. The same day, Transport Canada published recall 2025542 for 2026 North Point fifth wheel trailers [2]. The Canadian notice for 2026 North Point trailers says the bed could fall suddenly. It also says the corrective actions for this recall are under development.

May 29, 2025: Transport Canada Publishes a Tire-Size Label Recall

On May 29, 2025, Transport Canada published recall 2025292 for 2020 and 2021 North Point trailers [3]. The compliance label lists the tire size as ST225/85R16E instead of ST255/85R16E. The wrong label may cause owners to install incorrect tires. Jayco will mail owners a new label. The same label problem is NHTSA recall 25V-355, with dealer and owner notices dated June 2025 [4].

July 2, 2020: Jayco Files the Suspension Recall Report

On July 2, 2020, Jayco submitted Part 573 safety recall report 20V-385 to NHTSA. It covers all 1,409 model year 2017 North Point fifth wheels [5]. The report says the suspension design lets tires contact surrounding structure under certain dynamic load conditions. The free remedy is a dealer inspection of the suspension, a leaf spring replacement if needed and four rubber bump stops.

Owners of 2017 North Point fifth wheels built between May 17, 2016 and April 28, 2017 may be affected by recall 20V-385. Owners of 2019 North Point 387RDFS LZ models may be affected by recall 19V-166 [6]. Owners of 2020 and 2021 models may be affected by the label recall 25V-355. Owners of 2026 models may be affected by the Murphy bed recall 25V-675. Owners of North Point fifth wheels built before model year 2021 may be affected by Jayco service bulletin 22-043, a manufacturer repair procedure that is not a recall [7]. Jayco recalls that name the North Point cover the suspension, a cargo tray, a certification label and a Murphy bed. Recall 19V-166, from March 2019, covers the cargo tray on 387RDFS models. Recall 25V-355 gives 2020 and 2021 models a new certification label. As of NHTSA’s October 14, 2025 letter, the remedy for recall 25V-675 was under development.
