June 18, 2025: Australia Lists the Garlic Press Recall
Product Safety Australia posted recall notice PRA2025/20560 on June 18, 2025 [3]. IKEA Pty Ltd sold it March 11, 2024 to May 26, 2025. The notice describes an aluminium chrome plated press with a black plastic handle.
June 13, 2025: Ireland Issues Alert 2025.27
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued alert 2025.27 for the black garlic press on June 13, 2025 [4].
The alert is marked Category 1: For Action. It advises consumers to stop using the affected garlic press immediately. It came two days after the Canadian notice.
June 11, 2025: Health Canada Posts the Recall
Health Canada posted recall RA-77576 for the press on June 11, 2025 [5]. The recall covers 10,712 units sold in Canada from April 2024 to May 2025.

- Return the press to any IKEA store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
