Graco recalled the inclined sleeper accessory sold with the Day2Dream, Nuzzle Nest, Everest and Rock ‘n Grow Pack ‘n Play playards because of a suffocation risk. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on December 16, 2020.

December 16, 2020: Graco Recalls Inclined Sleeper Accessory
On December 16, 2020, Graco Children’s Products announced a recall with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. It covers about 51,000 inclined sleeper accessories sold with four Graco Pack ‘n Play playard models [1].
The recall number is 21-052, and the remedy is a refund for the accessory. Graco Children’s Products Inc., of Atlanta, Ga., is the recalling firm and the U.S. importer.
What Is the Graco Pack N Play Inclined Sleeper Accessory?
According to the CPSC, the inclined sleeper accessory sold with Graco Pack ‘n Play playards is the only part of the product that was recalled. The playard, changing station and bassinet portions can be used without the accessory.
Consumer Reports says inclined sleep products are designed to put babies to bed at an incline between 10 and 30 degrees [2].
Who May Be Affected?
You may be affected if you own a Graco Pack ‘n Play with the inclined sleeper accessory in one of these models:
- Day2Dream Playard & Bedside Sleeper, sold November 2017 through September 2020
- Nuzzle Nest Playard, sold May 2015 through December 2018
- Everest Playard, sold September 2015 through December 2018
- Rock ‘n Grow Playard, sold December 2019 through April 2020
The recalled accessory model numbers are 2034085, 2048753, 2053215, 1947177, 1896392, 1946902, 1946903 and 2105055. The models were sold at Babies R Us and BuyBuyBaby stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com and Target.com, for between $270 and $350.

CPSC says infant deaths were reported with inclined sleepers from other makers. Those deaths followed infants rolling from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.
Consumer Reports says inclined sleepers can block an infant’s airflow and lead to death. It says the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper and Kids II inclined sleepers were linked to 93 reported infant deaths.
