September 27, 2012 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that ADS Inc., of Bremerton, Wash., is now recalling Cyclone Swing Sets nationwide due to the products’ potential to break during use, which presents a significant fall hazard. Consumers who have purchased Cyclone Swing Sets affected by this recall should take them down immediately and contact ADS for a full refund or a replacement swing. To date, the company has received at least two reports of Cyclone Swing Sets breaking during use.

ADS Cyclone Swing Set Recall Overview

According to the CPSC press release, this recalls involves green, blue, and yellow plastic disc-shaped Cyclone Swing Sets. The seats are approximately 12 inches in diameter, and have a cone-shaped plastic piece in the middle to hold the swing’s rope. These products feature the date codes “2012 5 18’ through ‘2012 6 25” on the underside of the swing in black. Cyclone Swing Sets were sold via Internet sales on ADS’s websites from May 2012 through June 2012 for about $15 without a rope, and $30 with a rope.

Cyclone Swing Sets were imported by ADS Inc., and manufactured by YCH Industries Corp., of Taiwan. ADS is currently in the process of containing consumers who purchased Cyclone Swing Sets affected by this recall.
