What's the Problem?
The presence of tadalafil in Active Male by Natural Remedy "renders it an unapproved drug for which safety and efficacy has not been established and, therefore, subject to recall," according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) [1].
Consumption of products adulterated with an undeclared erectile dysfunction drug may pose a risk to consumers who take prescription medications containing nitrates (such as nitroglycerin), FDA said. The combination of tadalafil and nitrates may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels which can be life threatening.
Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates and may be the population most likely to be injured by the Active Male supplement, according to the FDA.
Active Male by Natural Remedy is sold in cardboard packaging with the image of a Trojan helmet and the name Active Male with BN: Nd6332, FDA said. The product was sold online and at the Natural Remedy Store in San Antonio, Texas.
If you purchased any supplements that are affected by this recall, you should not use them, and either discard them immediately or return to the point of purchase for a refund. This recall began on March 16, 2020.
