The FDA on October 23, 2017, sent a warning letter (WL #53541) [1] to Panther Labs stating that the company’s distribution of Ostarine MK2866 and “LGD MAX” (another supplement manufactured by Panther) were in violation of the agency’s Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) because they contain SARMS, which have been linked to serious side effects including liver damage, heart attack, blood clots and death.

What is MK-2866?
MK-2866, also known as Ostarine, is a selective androgen receptor modulor, or SARM, initially developed for the prevention of muscle wasting diseases. Ostarine is primarily used as a performance enhancing drug for muscle building, as its main benefit is helping with lean muscle gains. The product’s intended uses, according to the labeling, include “Physique Enhancing Agent” and “Mass Builder.”
What’s in it?
According to the FDA Warning Letter, Ostarine MK2866 contains the following ingredients:
((2S)-3-(4-cyanophenoxy)-N-{4-cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropamide (Ostarine)
What are SARMs?
Unlike traditional anabolic steroids, SARMs work specifically on muscle tissue, which is why manufacturers and proponents of the products consider them “safe steroids.” In theory, SARMS mimic the effects of testosterone in the body; however, unlike synthetic testosterone or anabolic steroids, they are directly targeted at skeletal muscle. However, given that they are so new, and may be adulterated with any number of unregulated substances, the jury is still out as to the relative safety of SARMs.
SARMs Side Effects
- Liver damage
- Cardiovascular complications
- Heart attack
- Blood clots
- Deep vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
- Stroke
- Death
Can I File a SARMs Lawsuit?
Only a qualified attorney can determine whether you are eligible to file a lawsuit against Panther Labs, maker of Ostarine MK-2866, which is why we are currently offering free case evaluations. Simply fill out the confidential evaluation form below to contact our law firm now.
Most cases involving pharmaceuticals allege that a drug was sold with design, manufacturing, and/or marketing defects, which typically refers to a company’s failure to warn of a certain side effect. In the case of Ostarine, our attorneys suspect that patients may be able to take legal action in light of claims that Panther Labs failed to adequately warn doctors and patients about the risk of severe liver damage and cardiovascular complications.
