What’s the Problem?
Five Below is recalling about 66,000 tabletop fire pits (smooth-base and beveled-base models) after report(s) that alcohol fuel can splash or leak out of the fire pit reservoir, causing flame-jetting or flash fire hazards with flames escaping the unit and posing risk of serious burn injury.
The dangerous units were sold from April 2024 through August 2025 in Five Below stores and online for between $2.50 and $5. No injuries have been reported so far, though at least one incident of flames escaping has been documented. This defect raises potential liability for burn injury, property damage, or emotional harm for users.
Although we are not aware of any lawsuits currently filed, we are investigating possible claims involving those who suffered burns or incurred expenses, or were placed at risk by this dangerous defect.
