An analysis conducted by researchers at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that Reumofan Plus contains undeclared methocarbamol, dexamethasone, and diclofenac.

What’s the Problem?
After a comprehensive FDA lab analysis, it has been determined that Reumofan Plus contains the following undeclared ingredients:
Diclofenac Sodium – Prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has the potential to cause the following serious side effects:
- heart attack
- gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events
- fatal perforation (causing a hole) of the stomach and intestines
Methocarbamol – Prescription muscle relaxant that has been reported to cause:

Corticosteroid Dexamethasone – Discovered in at least one lot of Reumofan Plus, corticosteroid dexamethasone is a drug that acts as an anti-inflammatory and immune system suppressant.
Reumofan Plus Side Effects
To date, the FDA has received multiple adverse event reports associated with Reumofan Plus, which have included instances of:
- liver injury
- sudden worsening of glucose control
- weight gain
- leg cramps
- adrenal suppression
The FDA is advising consumers who are taking Reumofan Plus to consult their physicians immediately. Healthcare professionals are urged to ask their patients about their use of Reumofan Plus and other products marketed as dietary supplements when they present any of the signs or symptoms listed above. Manufactured by Mexico-based Riger Naturals, Reumofan Plus is marketed as a ‘natural dietary supplement’ which is intended to treat arthritis, muscle pain, osteoporosis, bone cancer, and other conditions. The product is sold in retail outlets, flea markets, and a number of Internet sites. The FDA is working in tandem with the Mexican government on the matter, and Riger Naturals has been ordered to recall Reumofan Plus.
