What’s the Problem?
This recall affects 2018-2020 Jeep Wrangler and 2020 Jeep Gladiators equipped with manual transmissions, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The clutch pressure plate on affected Jeeps may overheat and fracture, NHTSA said. An overheated clutch plate may increase the risk of a fire, and damage to other nearby components could result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners when a remedy for the problem has been developed. This recall began on April 22, 2020.
