Editorial Policy

This page explains who is responsible for the information on schmidtandclark.com, where it comes from, and how we keep it current.

Who Is Responsible for Our Content

Attorneys C.L. Mike Schmidt and Collen A. Clark are responsible for the content of this website. Our lawsuit and recall pages are published under their direction. Article bylines link to their attorney profiles, which list their board certifications and bar admissions.

Where Our Information Comes From

We base our pages on primary sources wherever they exist, including:

  • Court records, such as federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) orders, dockets and verdicts
  • Recall notices and safety warnings from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS)
  • Outbreak and health data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Published medical and scientific research

Our pages cite the sources they rely on, usually in a References section at the end, so readers can check the facts for themselves.

How Our Pages Are Organized

Our lawsuit and recall pages follow a standard outline. Each one opens with a short summary, followed by a “Latest Updates” section that lists developments by date, newest first. Pages also explain who may qualify for a claim and answer common questions.

How We Keep Pages Current

Lawsuits and recalls change often. We update a page when there is a new court ruling, a settlement, a new recall or a new agency warning. Each page shows the date it was last updated.

Corrections

If you believe something on our site is wrong or out of date, please tell us through our contact page or call (866) 588-0600. We review every correction request and fix confirmed errors.
