What’s the Problem?
The recalled pools have a compression strap (also called a reinforcing belt) that wraps around the outside of the pool on the exterior of the vertical support poles. This strap can create a foothold that allows a child to climb into the pool, creating a drowning hazard.
Children can still gain access to the pool using these footholds even if the ladder is removed.
Latest Updates
- December 18, 2025 – CPSC announced Recall No. 26-162 for SereneLife brand 48-inch and taller above-ground pools due to a drowning hazard created when the exterior compression strap may function as a foothold for children. [1]
Product & Usage Overview
This recall involves all SereneLife brand above-ground pools 48 inches and taller. Models included in the recall are SLPORND15 and SLPORND18. Model information and the SereneLife logo are printed on the liner on the outside of the pool.
Where and When the Recalled Pools Were Sold
About 80 units are affected. The recalled pools were sold online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, Target.com, and the SereneLife website (serenelifehome.com) from December 2021 through May 2025 for between $300 and $500, depending on the size and model of the pool and accessories purchased.
Incidents & Injuries
No incidents or injuries were reported at the time of the recall announcement.

Do You Qualify for a SereneLife Above Ground Pool Recall Lawsuit?
You may qualify to pursue a SereneLife Above Ground Pool Recall Lawsuit (or a related claim) if one or more of the following apply:
- You purchased a SereneLife above-ground pool 48 inches and taller, including model SLPORND15 or SLPORND18.
- A child accessed the pool using the exterior strap/foothold feature, resulting in a drowning, near-drowning, or fall-related incident.
- You incurred measurable losses, such as medical bills, emergency response costs, counseling expenses, or other documented damages.
- You can document the pool model and the circumstances of the incident.
Evidence You Should Gather
- Proof of purchase (order confirmation, receipt, or payment record).
- Photos of the pool showing the SereneLife logo on the liner and the exterior compression strap.
- Photos of the model information printed on the liner (if visible and safe to capture).
- Incident documentation (date, time, location, witness information, photographs where appropriate).
- Medical records, EMS/fire department documentation, and billing statements if an injury occurred.
Damages You Can Recover
Potential damages depend on state law and the specific facts, but may include:
- Medical expenses: emergency care, hospitalization, rehabilitation, and follow-up treatment.
- Wrongful death damages: recoverable losses where a fatality occurred (availability and categories vary by jurisdiction).
- Loss of income: missed work and loss of earning capacity, where applicable.
- Pain and suffering: physical pain, emotional distress, and loss of quality of life associated with the incident.
- Out-of-pocket costs: incident-related expenses and other documented costs.
Legal Theories & Liability Grounds
Depending on the evidence, claims involving recalled above-ground pools are commonly evaluated under product-liability frameworks such as:
- Design defect: allegations that the exterior strap creates an accessible foothold that facilitates child entry into the pool.
- Failure to warn: allegations that warnings and instructions were insufficient to address foreseeable child-access risks.
- Negligence: allegations tied to reasonable care in design, safety testing, or risk mitigation.
Statute of Limitations & Timing
Deadlines for filing product liability and injury claims vary by state and can depend on when the incident occurred and when the connection to the product hazard was reasonably discoverable. Preserving evidence early is often important, particularly if the product is destroyed or disposed of as part of the refund process.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is removing the ladder enough to prevent child access?
No. The compression strap can create a foothold that allows a child to access the pool even if the ladder is removed. - What is required to obtain the refund?
A full refund requires photographic evidence of destruction or disposal of the product. - How do I confirm whether my pool is included?
Check the liner on the outside of the pool for the SereneLife logo and model information; recalled models include SLPORND15 and SLPORND18.
Why You Should Act Now
Drowning hazards can present immediate, catastrophic risk—especially for young children. If you own a recalled SereneLife above-ground pool 48 inches and taller, stop using it immediately and complete the refund process. If a drowning or near-drowning incident occurred, a legal review can help evaluate potential options and the documentation needed to support a claim.
