What’s the Problem?
The recalled youth ATVs allegedly have several serious safety defects, not just one. CPSC said the vehicles fail to meet the maximum speed limits required for ATVs intended for children ages 6 and older, the mechanical suspension does not comply with safety requirements, and the throttle can stick during use. Any one of those problems could create a dangerous loss of control. Combined, they present a significant crash hazard for young riders.
The recall also involves a separate burn hazard. According to CPSC, the ATVs’ footwell surfaces can reach high temperatures, creating a risk of severe burns. That means the alleged danger is not limited to collisions. Even during ordinary riding, a child could be exposed to excessive heat in an area that should be safe to touch during normal use.
Latest Updates

CPSC also reported one death involving a 6-year-old boy in a 2025 crash on a Rex110 ATV and said about 4,900 units were sold in the United States. [1]
