Zyban® Heart Birth Defects Lawsuit

Zyban (bupropion) has recently been linked to an increased risk of life-threatening congenital cardiac birth defects in babies born to mothers that took the drug(s) during pregnancy. Zyban is marketed as a prescription smoking cessation drug.

If you or somebody you know has taken Zyban while pregnant and given birth to a child with a birth defect, you should contact our law firm immediately. You may be entitled to compensation by filing a Zyban lawsuit and our lawyers can help.

What’s the problem?

The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology recently published an article showing that mothers that took Zyban during pregnancy had an increased risk of giving birth to a child with left outflow tract heart defects. Left outflow heart defects affect the flow of blood from the heart’s left chambers to the rest of the body. In this study, the most common type of this defect was coarctation of the aorta — a narrowing in the body’s main artery that, in children, typically requires surgical repair.
