What’s the Problem?
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this recall affects Ultimate Leather Zone HS1100 helmets manufactured 2014-2016, models HS1100-D1, HS1100-D2, HS1100-D3, HS1100-D5, HS1100-FLAT, HS1100-REBEL and HS1100-SHINY, in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, and 2XL.
The recalled motorcycles helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a crash. “As such, the helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 218, “Motorcycle Helmets,” NHTSA said. “A helmet that does not adequately protect the wearer from an impact can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.”
