Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is recalling 12-ounce bags of frozen spinach that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that causes severe foodborne illness.

Update: Wegmans Recalls Cauliflower Rice for E. Coli Contamination
December 19, 2018 – Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has issued a nationwide recall for its fresh Cauliflower Rice, Veggie Cauliflower Rice Blend and Stir-Fry Mix with Cauliflower over concerns the products may be tainted with E. coli. The recalled products were sold in the produce department of Wegmans Food Markets between 12/7 and 12/18/18, in the following states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Massachusetts.
Wegmans Recalls Frozen Spinach Over Potential Listeria Contamination
The recall affects approximately 12,540 packages of Wegmans Organic Food You Feel Good About Just Picked Frozen Spinach, 12 oz. (UPC 77890-32932), according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). The product was supplied by Stanwood, WA-based Twin City Foods Inc., and sold in Wegmans Food Markets from Jan. 27 to March 21.
Only packages with the following codes are affected by this recall:
- BEST USED BY JAN 26 2017 50265
- BEST USED BY FEB 02 2017 50335
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Wegmans will make automated phone calls to customers who purchased the frozen spinach using their Shoppers Club card. If you purchased items included in this recall, you should discard them immediately or return them to any Wegmans Market for a full refund.
