What’s the Problem?
The recalled VW Atlas SUVs are equipped with an incorrectly manufactured airbag sensor, which can delay or disable air bag deployment when necessary, NHTSA said.
In the event of a crash, a delayed or disabled airbag deployment can increase the risk of severe personal injury or death.
Volkswagen is notifying owners and dealers will replace the airbag crash sensor, free of charge. This recall began on Feb. 21, 2020.
