Schmidt & Clark, LLP, is currently accepting potential lawsuits on behalf of individuals who developed pancreatic cancer after taking the popular diabetes drug Victoza (generic: liraglutide). A recent study published in the journal Gastroenterology found that patients taking medications from the same class as Victoza had a 2.9 times increased risk of being diagnosed with the disease compared to patients who used other kinds of diabetes medications. Victoza pancreatic cancer symptoms may include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and elevated blood sugar levels.

What Symptoms Does Victoza Pancreatic Cancer Cause?
Due to the fact that the pancreas lies deep in the abdomen in front of the spine, pancreatic cancer often goes undetected until its later stages. Once the tumor grows large enough to press on other nearby structures such as nerves, symptoms of Victoza pancreatic cancer may include:
- loss of appetite
- weight loss
- jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
Symptoms of Victoza pancreatic cancer are generally the same in both men and women. Once the tumor metastasizes and sheds cancer cells into the blood and lymph systems, additional symptoms may occur depending on the location of the metastasis. Frequent sites of metastasis for pancreatic cancer include the liver, lymph nodes, and lining of the abdomen. Unfortunately, most pancreatic cancers are diagnosed only after the disease has migrated beyond the pancreas, or has metastasized to other areas of the body.
