What’s the Problem?
June 16, 2017 – The Uber driver, Guy Theron of Sarasota, Florida, died of his injuries after being rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening. Theron had an Uber sticker on his silver 2008 Dodge minivan, but police said he was not driving for Uber at the time and no passenger was in his vehicle.
Police say Theron was driving north at a high rate of speed on Higel Avenue when he swerved and collided with 2 southbound cars near the intersection of Faubel Street around 6 p.m.
An 18-year-old Sarasota man was driving a gold 2000 Honda, and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two other Sarasota residents, ages 17 and 19, in a black Scion were transported with serious and critical injuries, respectively.
Both are expected to make full recoveries. Police said the crash is still under investigation.
