What’s the problem?
February 16, 2011 – The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced today that Triad Medical, Inc. will be recalling Sterile Lubricating Jelly products because they may not be sterile. Products in question may be contained in kits, packs, or trays that were packaged after December 2010 by other firms including the following brand names:
- Select Medical Products
- Triad Plus
- McKesson Medi-Pak Performance
- Henry Schein
Patients who are immuno-compromised, such as those with diabetes, cancer and certain other chronic diseases, may be at potential risk for infection. The FDA recommends that consumers should immediately contact their kit, pack or tray suppliers to determine whether the products stocked at their facility are impacted by the recall.
