What's the Problem?
This recall affects Tesla Model Y vehicles from model year 2020, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The bolts connecting the front upper control arm and steering knuckle on affected Teslas may have not been properly tightened, allowing the upper control arm to detach from the steering knuckle, NHTSA said. A detached upper control arm could cause the wheels to lean in or out, decreasing the driver's ability to steer and increasing the risk of a crash.
Tesla is notifying owners and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, tighten the bolts for free.
This Tesla recall began in December 2020.
