Suzuki recalls 70,000 SX4 models
November 1, 2010 - This week, Suzuki Motor Corporation announced that it will be recalling nearly 70,000 SX4 models because of faulty screws that secure the rear outside mirrors. Limited visibility by faulty screws may lead to an accident.
Included in the recall are the 2007 Suzuki SX4 hatchback and the 2008-2010 SX4 hatchback and sedan. According to Suzuki, “three screws that secure the outside rear view mirrors can come loose due to vibration.” To remedy this defect, the six mounting screws that secure the outside rear view mirrors in place have to be replaced by newer, more secure locking screws.
Though Suzuki has not come up with a repair schedule for the issue, the company noted that replacement screws were on their way to Suzuki dealers. The recall is expected to begin on November 10.
