What’s the Problem?
This recall affects metal CFMK H-Brackets that are screwed into the ceiling and used to surface mount CPANL LED fixtures, according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
The CFMK Bracket was included as an optional mounting accessory with 1×4, 2×4 and 2×2 CPANLs sold by retailers, and was also sold as a separate accessory for CPANL LEDs sold by commercial distributors.
Affected mounting brackets were sold online and at Lowe’s and other home improvement stores nationwide from August 2018 through June 2020 for between $85 and $100.
If you purchased a surface mount bracket that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact Lithonia Lighting for a free bracket repair kit. “Consumers should prevent people from going into the immediate area under the fixtures until the brackets are repaired,” CPSC said.
This recall began on August 19, 2020.
