The suit alleges that Plaintiff was using her Sunbeam Crock Pot Electric Pressure Cooker as directed when it suddenly and without warning exploded boiling hot contents on her, causing severe injuries. Plaintiff claims that the pressure cooker’s safety features failed to work properly, and that the appliance was defectively designed.

Sunbeam Pressure Cooker Class Action
A class action lawsuit was filed against Sunbeam Products Inc. in Jan. 2020 by a woman who alleges she was severely burned after after her Crock-Pot Express Pressure Cooker exploded without warning during normal use. The suit accuses Sunbeam of selling a defective pressure cooker, and misleading consumers by advertising “safety features” that do not actually prevent explosions.
