Sandusky’s Son Accuses Dad of Molestation

This week, one of Jerry Sandusky’s adopted sons reportedly admitted to authorities that the former Penn State assistant football coach sexually abused him as a child.

June 22, 2012 – This week, one of Jerry Sandusky’s adopted sons reportedly admitted to authorities that the former Penn State assistant football coach sexually abused him as a child. Lawyers for Matt Sandusky, who is one of Jerry Sandusky’s six adopted children, issued a statement yesterday saying that the 33-year-old was prepared to testify on behalf of the prosecution in his father’s high-profile sex abuse trial. The statement was issued after jurors began deliberating the fate of the 68-year-old disgraced former coach.

Jerry Sandusky Sexual Abuse Update 6/25/12: On Friday, Jerry Sandusky was convicted of sexually assaulting 10 boys over a period of 15 years, charges that shattered the once pristine image of Penn State University football and led to the firing of revered head coach Joe Paterno. Sandusky, a 68-year-old retired defense coach who was once considered to be next in line to take over Paterno’s job, showed little emotion as he was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts. What’s the problem?

Matt Sandusky first went to live with Jerry and his wife Dottie as a foster child in 1995, and was subsequently adopted by the couple as an adult. Shortly after the former coach was arrested last November, Matt Sandusky’s ex-wife went to court to apply for a restraining order to keep her former father-in-law away from their three young children. The order was granted, which forbid the children from spending the night at their grandparent’s home.

Also around the time of the arrest, details emerged that Matt Sandusky had attempted suicide just four months after going to live with the couple. He had come into the home through The Second Mile, a charitable organization founded by Sandusky himself, and was a foster child for a period before being legally adopted.

During last week’s riveting testimony, a prosecution witness known only as ‘Victim 4’ testified that Matt Sandusky was living at the Sandusky home when he came for overnight visits. When asked if Jerry Sandusky ever engaged in ‘soap battles’ with him, Victim 4 recounted an instance when he and Matt had been playing racquetball. After they were done, they went back to the locker room to take a shower and were followed by Mr. Sandusky.

“Me and Jerry came in. He started pumping his hand full of soap,” he said. After Jerry came in, Matt turned off his shower and left the room. Victim 4 stated that Matt looked ‘nervous’ when the soap battles started.

Jurors began their deliberations yesterday after prosecutors described Jerry Sandusky as ‘a serial, predatory pedophile’ who hand-picked and groomed his victims from a young age, while the defense team painted the former coach as being taken advantage of by greedy accusers and a bloodthirsty prosecution.

“What you should do is come out and say to the defendant that he molested and abused and give them back their souls,” said Senior Deputy Attorney General Joseph McGettigan III. “I give them to you. Acknowledge and give them justice.”

Standing behind Sandusky, McGettigan urged the jury to convict the disgraced former coach.
“He molested and abused and hurt these children horribly,” McGettigan said. “He knows he did it, and you know he did it. Find him guilty of everything.”

If convicted, Jerry Sandusky could very well spend the rest of his life in prison.
