Reichel Foods Recalls Pro2Snax for Listeria Contamination
Dec. 27, 2019 - Reichel Foods Inc., a Rochester, Minnesota establishment, on Thursday issued a nationwide recall [1] for the following products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that causes severe foodborne illness:
- Pro2Snax To The Max Granny Apples /Hard-Boiled Egg/Cheddar/Cashew & Craisin (UPC 649632001490)
- Pro2Snax To The Max Gala Apples/Hard-Boiled Egg/White Cheddar/Almond & Craisin (UPC 649632001483)
These products were recalled and distributed nationwide by Almark Foods, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Listeria Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of listeria food poisoning, or listeriosis, may include:
- Fever
- Muscle aches
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
If the infection spreads to the nervous system, symptoms may also include:
- Headache
- Stiff neck
- Confusion or changes in alertness
- Loss of balance
- Convulsions

If you purchased any Pro2Snax that are affected by this recall, you should not eat them, and either discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund. To date, there have been no listeria infections or other adverse events associated with the recall, FDA said.
Anyone who had food poisoning symptoms after eating any recalled products should contact their doctor as soon as possible.
