What’s the problem?
May 4, 2017 – A relative said the woman was cooking rice and beans when the pressure cooker exploded, according to ABC News 10.
“When I got there, she was bandaged,” the relative said.
Neighbors told Local 10 News they heard the woman screaming outside her home shortly after the explosion occurred.
Maria King said she called 911 and helped the woman soothe her wounds.
“The lady was screaming in the street,” King said. “We got water and I put ice (on her).”
The woman is being treated for her burns and is expected to make a full recovery.
It was not immediately clear what brand of pressure cooker burned the woman. However, lawsuits have been filed by consumers who were injured by the Tristar Power Pressure Cooker XL. Plaintiffs claim Tristar was negligent in designing, marketing and selling the allegedly defective pressure cooker, which has resulted in severe injuries and associated damages.
