What's the Problem?
This recall affects 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe vehicles equipped with a front passenger airbag assembly replaced under a prior recall, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The replacement airbag may not unfold correctly during inflation in high-temperature conditions, potentially resulting in an airbag malfunction. An airbag that does not inflate properly increases the risk of injury during a crash, NHTSA said.
If you purchased a Pontiac Vibe that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact your General Motors dealer for a free replacement airbag module, if necessary. This recall began on Feb. 19, 2020.
