Recall Update Notice: 2024 Polaris Bobcat, ProXD, Ranger Models Pose Injury Risk
Polaris has issued a recall for approximately 2,500 of their 2024 Ranger Recreational Off-Road Vehicles (ROVs) and ProXD and Bobcat Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs).
The recall is due to a defect that may cause the passenger-side seat belt anchor bracket to detach from the frame because of a faulty weld, creating a potential risk of injury.
In the event of a collision, this defect could cause the seat belt to fail or result in passenger injury from a dislodged bracket, as noted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1.].
Description of Affected Vehicles:
- Ranger ROVs are available in colors such as blue, bronze, camouflage, gray, green, tan, and white, and come in both 3-seat and 6-seat models.
- ProXD UTVs feature gray plastic bodies with black trim.
- Bobcat UTVs have black body panels accented with white and orange details.
You can identify the affected models by checking the front grille, where “POLARIS” is embossed on Ranger and ProXD vehicles, and the Bobcat logo appears on Bobcat models. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the left rear frame under the cargo box on the driver’s side.
What To Do If You Own One
If you own one of these vehicles, stop carrying passengers immediately. Contact an authorized Polaris dealer to arrange a free inspection and repair if necessary. Polaris is notifying all registered owners directly.
The recall officially commenced on December 5, 2024.

For Polaris PRO XD and Ranger models, the word “POLARIS” is stamped on the front grille and “POLARIS PRO XD” or “Ranger” is printed on the sides of the rear cargo area, CPSC said. On Bobcat models, the word “Bobcat” is printed on the sides of the rear cargo area. VIN numbers are stamped into the left rear vehicle frame below the cargo box.
