March 23, 2011 – The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced this week that Lakeside Foods, Inc. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin is now recalling 3000 cases of 105-ounce canned pickled sliced beets because some cans may be contaminated with harmful organisms including Clostridium botulinum.

Consumers who have cans of Pickled Sliced Beets with the following code on the can to return them unopened to the place of purchase: EFBB229/003034 and EFBB229/003047. These products were recalled nationwide and sold with the following labels: BOUNTIFUL HARVEST, CODE ELITE, COMSOURCE MEDAL, LAKESIDE, MONARCH, NUGGET BLACK, RESTAURANT PRIDE and SYSCO CLASSIC.

Botulism Food Poisoning
