What’s the Problem?
According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), this recall affects:
- Ozone 500® Boys’ Density 24 in Bicycle – Model Number 164539
- Ozone 500® Women’s Density 26 in 18-Speed Bicycle – Model Number 162803
- Ozone 500® Girls’ Density 24 in Bicycle – Model Number 164537
- Ozone 500® Men’s Density 26 in 18-Speed Bicycle – Model Number 162805
The model number can be found on the seat tube of the recalled bicycles. “Ozone 500” is printed on the frame.
The recalled bikes were sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors stores and online from October 2020 through November 2020 for about $115.
If you purchased a bike that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact Academy Sports + Outdoors for a free repair or free replacement hardware.
This recall began on January 6, 2021.
