Consumer Safety Alert: More male enhancement capsules marketed as ‘dietary supplements’ recalled due to undeclared Sildenafil. This active ingredient may interact with nitrates and lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
What’s the problem?
January 24, 2011 – Last week, Kanec USA Inc. announced that it is conducting a recall of All Lots of the company’s Nite Rider Maximum Sexual Enhancer For Men and STUD Capsule for Men because they were found adulterated with Sildenafil, an FDA approved drug used in the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED), making the products unapproved new drugs.
Nite Rider Maximum Sexual Enhancer For Men and STUD Capsules for Men are currently being distributed to Wholesalers in Florida. The products are sold in a blister pack of one capsule per unit of use, 24 packets in a display box. Consumers who have either of these products in their possession should stop use immediately.
Why is Sildenafil Dangerous?
Sildenafil can lower the blood pressure to dangerous levels if administered in too high doses or in combination with other drugs. Nite Rider Maximum Sexual Enhancer, STUD Capsules, and other drugs for erectile dysfunction work by dilating blood vessels and increasing the flow of blood to the penis. The danger in taking sildenafil and drugs with similar action is that dilation of blood vessels leads to lowered blood pressure. In the event of any adverse side effects due to the consumption of this product, consumers should contact a physician immediately.
