One worker died and 4 others were injured in April 2023 in an explosion at an ethanol plant in eastern Nebraska, according to KTAS News [1.]. The explosion occurred at a Green Plains ethanol plant in Wood River, about 160 miles west of Omaha.
Firefighters on the scene found a liquid holding tank that had been damaged in the explosion at the plant, which makes the highly flammable fuel additive. The Nebraska Fire Marshal’s office stated that the explosion was an accident caused by the work that was being conducted at the time.

Fatal Work Injuries in Nebraska
