May 27, 2015 - This recall includes Natural Grocers brand Macadamia nuts with the UPC Code # 0000080657552 and Packed on Dates 15-041 and 15-056. Affected products were distributed to 96 Natural Grocers stores in the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Why was the Recall Issued?
This recall was initiated after routine sampling by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) identified the presence of salmonella bacteria in Natural Grocers brand Macadamia nuts. To date, no food poisoning illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Consumers who purchased macadamia nuts affected by this recall should discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

June 10 - Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets is recalling additional lots of Natural Grocers brand Macadamia Nuts over potential salmonella contamination, according to the FDA. Products affected by the extended recall include:
Raw Macadamia Nuts 10 oz. - UPC Code: 000080657552 - Packed on Dates: 14-328, 14-337, 14-360, 14-365, 15-020, 15-041, 15-056, 15-077, 15-090, 15-104, 15-127.
These products were distributed to Natural Grocers stores in: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
