Compounding Pharmacy Recalls on the Rise
The Medaus Pharmacy recall is just the latest in a series of similar actions taken by compounding pharmacies around the country. Last year, a rare outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to contaminated steroid injections processed by the New England Compounding Center (NECC) caused 24 deaths and more than 300 injuries. In response to these events, NECC shut its doors and has yet to resume operations.
