Potential Maxi Gold Lawsuits are now being investigated for people who suffered serious injuries after using this controversial weight loss pill. A recent FDA laboratory analysis determined that Maxi Gold may contain sibutramine and/or phenolphthalein, making the supplement illegal to sell on the U.S. market. The undeclared ingredients contained in Maxi Gold have been linked to seizures, heart attacks, arrhythmia, stroke, and other serious side effects.

What’s the Problem?
On March 25, 2014, the FDA announced a recall for all lots of Maxi Gold capsules after the supplement was determined to contain sibutramine and/or phenolphthalein, undeclared active ingredients that make Maxi Gold illegal to sell on the U.S. market. Sibutramine was banned around the country in 2010 after it was reported to cause seizures, heart attacks, arrhythmia and strokes in some users. phenolphthalein was formerly included as an ingredient in laxatives, but was pulled off the market due to concerns over its carcinogenicity. According to the FDA, these undeclared ingredients make Maxi Gold an unapproved product for which safety and efficacy have not been established.
Maxi Gold is packaged in 30 capsule bottles. All lots of Maxi Gold are included in the March 2014 recall. These weight loss pills were distributed online and through retail stores to customers in New York, New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia and Massachusetts.
