FDA Warns Consumers to Avoid Man Up Now Capsules
December 14, 2010 – This week, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to consumers not to take ‘Man Up Now’ sexual enhancement dietary supplements. The warning came because the supplement was found to contain an active drug ingredient that can dangerously lower blood pressure.
The FDA analyzed Man Up Now and determined that it contains sulfoaildenafil, a chemical similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. This chemical may interact with prescription drugs – including nitroglycerin – and cause dangerously low blood pressure. When blood pressure drops suddenly, the brain is deprived of an adequate blood supply that can lead to dizziness or lightheadedness.
Man Up Now is distributed by Synergy Distribution LLC, sold on the Internet and possibly in retail outlets in blister packs and in six-, 12-, and 30-count capsule bottles.
