What’s the problem?
January 21, 2011 - Mama Rose's Gourmet Foods of Phoenix, AZ is currently recalling the following products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death:
- Cilantro Con Queso
- Garlic Con Queso
- Viper Venom Con Queso
- Hopi Corn Salsa
Consumers are warned not to use these product even if they do not look or smell spoiled. Clostridium botulism may cause:
- lassitude
- weakness
- vertigo
- double vision
- difficulty in speaking and swallowing
Additionally, botulism can lead to life-threatening infections in individuals with weakened or compromised immune systems, such as young children and the elderly.
