What’s the problem?
April 22, 2011 – This week, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced that L&M Companies, Inc. of Raleigh, NC is now recalling one lot (1590 cartons) of whole cucumbers because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The products in question were distributed to wholesalers in New York, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Nebraska, Texas and Wyoming. The recalled bulk cartons are marked ‘Nature’s Delight’ and contain the Lot # PL-RID-002990 on the side of the carton. L&M has requested that customers who may still have the recalled products in inventory remove them from commerce immediately. Consumers who think they may have the recalled products in their possession should not consume them and should contact the place of purchase to determine if their cucumber is included in this recall.

September 10, 2015 – A total of 341 salmonella illnesses — including 2 deaths — have been linked to Mexican grown cucumbers distributed by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce of San Diego, according to NBC News. Salmonella Poisoning Symptoms
