Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe, potentially fatal infections in children, the elderly, and in individuals with compromised immune systems. Pregnant women who ingest the bacterium can suffer miscarriages and stillbirths.

Food contaminated with salmonella can cause salmonellosis, a common bacterial food-borne illnesses. The most common symptoms of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating the contaminated product. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days.

If you purchased any Jenny Craig Chicken Wraps that are subject to this recall, you should not eat them, and either discard them immediately or contact the manufacturer about a refund.

To date, no salmonella or listeria infections have been linked to the recalled chicken wraps, FSIS said.
