What's the Problem?
This recall affects 21.1oz (600g) Xi Zhi Liang Fruit Jelly Cups (喜之郎什果果凍杯), container code, “BEST BEFORE 12.30.2020,” according to an FDA Recall Notice [1] issued on 6/11/20.
Rong Shing Trading issued the recall because the fruit cups may pose a choking hazard to young children, FDA said. Small konjac powder jelly cups are presently under FDA import alert 33-15 and are not permitted for entry into the U.S.
Affected jelly cups were sold in pink, yellow, and blue plastic backpacks, with individual plastic cups inside each pack, and a toy car in a pouch on the front of the plastic backpack. The UPC code of affected items is “6902934982138.” These products were distributed nationwide in retail food stores, FDA said.
The choking hazard was found during an inspection by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Food Safety and Inspection.
If you purchased any jelly cups that are affected by this recall, you should not eat them, and either discard them or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.
