What’s the problem?

If Invega gynecomastia is suspected, the doctor will ask the patient questions about his medical and drug history, as well as about the health conditions that run in his family. The doctor will then conduct a physical examination that may include an evaluation of the patient’s breast tissue, abdomen and genitals. Additional Invega gynecomastia tests and diagnosis procedures may include:

  • Blood tests
  • Mammograms
  • Chest X-rays
  • Computerized tomography (CT) scans
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans
  • Testicular ultrasounds
  • Tissue biopsies

To confirm a diagnosis of Invega gynecomastia, the doctor will attempt to rule out that the patient’s breast swelling is not caused by another problem. Other conditions that can cause similar symptoms may include:

  • Fatty breast tissue – Some men simply have an excessive amount of breast fat that resembles gynecomastia. This condition is referred to as false gynecomastia (pseudogynecomastia), which is not the same as clinical gynecomastia.
  • Breast cancer – Although exceedingly rare in males, breast cancer has been found to occur in some men. Signs and symptoms of male breast cancer typically include enlargement of one breast or the presence of a firm nodule in the breast.
  • Breast abscess – Often confused with gynecomastia, breast abscesses are caused by an infection of the breast tissue.
