2011 Hyundai Sonata Recalled for Steering Problem
A recent quality issue has prompted Hyundai to announce a recall of up to 139,500 of its Sonata sedans in the United States for possible steering failure. Sonata sedans produced from December 2009 until September 10, 2010, are subject to recall.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating steering equipment that may have been installed incorrectly and could cause a loss of steering ability. The NHTSA recall will examine the tightness of the joints for fit and finish as well as functionality.
Hyundai Sonata Software Recall
Hyundai Motor America is recalling 2020 Sonata vehicles for potentially defective Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) software which may fail to prevent vehicle movement upon detection of an RSPA system malfunction. Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This recall began on June 4, 2020.
