What’s the Problem?
This recall affects Hyundai Genesis Coupe vehicles from model year 2016, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The mounting bolts securing the driver-side frontal airbag may have been insufficiently tightened on affected vehicles, potentially causing the airbag to detach from the steering wheel, NHTSA said. A detached driver’s airbag increases the risk of injury during a crash.
Hyundai is notifying owners and dealers will inspect and repair the mounting bolts, free of charge. This recall began on June 26, 2020.
