What’s the Problem?
This recall affects the Home Decorator’s Collection Print Block 4-Drawer Whitewash Chest, Model # HDC-14012, made from mango wood with a distressed finish, according to a Recall Notice by the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). The agency said the recalled Home Depot Chest of Drawers do not comply with the requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard (ASTM 2057-17).
Affected chests are about 44 inches tall and weigh about 96 pounds, and were sold online between May 2015 and December 2019. A white label on the back of the chest lists the manufacturer “Country Art & Craft LLP” and date of production in black text, CPSC said.
If you purchased a Home Depot Chest of Drawers that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately unless it is properly anchored to a wall and out of reach of children. Contact Home Depot for information about how to obtain a full refund with free chest pick-up.
