Gravel Ridge Farms Eggs Recall Lawsuit

An Alabama firm is recalling its cage-free eggs over a concern of potential contamination with salmonella bacteria, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) warned on Sunday.

September 10, 2018 - The egg recall was initiated after salmonella illnesses were reported at locations using Gravel Ridge Farms eggs, FDA said. The products were distributed from August 25 thru September 6, 2018, to restaurants and retail establishments in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

What’s the Problem?

The recalled products include "Single Dozen and 2.5 Dozen Flats" size of Gravel Ridge "Cage Free Large Eggs" with use-by dates of July 25, 2018, through Oct. 3, 2018, FDA said. The UPC on the recalled eggs is 7-06970-38444-6.

Customers who purchased the recalled eggs should discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase, FDA said. If you ate any of the eggs and did not get sick, you should still either throw them away or return them. Call a doctor immediately if you have any of the symptoms listed below.

Gravel Ridge Farms has ceased production of eggs until the source of contamination can be found. Consumers with additional questions about the egg recall should contact the company during normal business hours, FDA said.
