What’s the Problem?
This recall affects 2021 Forest River No Boundaries (NOBO) 10.5 and 10.6 travel trailers
equipped with Dometic CFX3 Series chest refrigerators (models CFX3 35, CFX3 45, CFX3 55IM, CFX3 75DZ, CFX3 95DZ and CFX3 100), according to the NHTSA.
The protection device on the electrical circuit of affected travel trailers may fail when the refrigerator is connected to both AC and DC power, allowing the AC/DC power supply to backfeed through some or all of the other appliances that are connected to the 12V DC system, NHTSA said. A voltage overload may result, causing DC appliances on the same circuit to fail, increasing the risk of a fire.
Forest River is notifying owners and dealers will install new warning labels, free of charge.
This recall began on August 24, 2020.

Most Common Problems with Forest River Travel Trailers
Forest River brand was regarded as one of the most venerable and reliable travel trailer manufacturers on the market. The brand was noted for its high-quality products. Unfortunately, due to many faults with the latest models, the corporation has now lost the trust of consumers.
The most common problems with modern forest river travel trailers include:
- Slide-Out Problems – Several models of Forest River travel trailers have this issue. The cabling is the most prevalent problem that most owners who use slide-outs have. A surge or variation in current flow may cause the cables to short-circuit in some situations.
- Poor Appliances – In the 2021 17JG Wolf Pup Forest River travel trailer, the awning does not electrically extend but will retract. It is a very old and weak component that is not as advanced as the modern awning systems in most reputable travel trailers.
- Poor Quality and Poor Finishing – Many owners have not been satisfied with Salem Cruise Lite and R-Pod models because of poor build quality. The Rockford, Wildwood, and Cherokee Forest River models also received demerits for the same reason. The general concern was that the quality of construction was lacking in all 6 travel trailers.
